What is The
Informant II?
The Informant is the most feature-rich, most precise refrigerant leak and
combustible leak detector
available today.
 Its unique combination of state-of-the
art patented sensor technology, advanced software design, and microprocessor
controlled circuitry offers you extraordinary precision and tremendous speed when
identifying a refrigerant's leak source - even when high levels of background vapors
or refrigerant are present, without needing to make instrument sensitivity
adjustments. The Informant
II includes
a 20" probe that can be wrapped around the instrument and used as a 3"
probe. The probe tip tapers down to a 0.2" diameter - so you can get in between
coils and fittings. A brushless fan, mounted at the base of the probe, draws a gas
sample through the sensor ensuring a fast
 response. The Informant also features an audible
indicator with mute option, as well as three visual leak indications. Two sets of
bar graph LEDs light up in sequence, plus a flashing LED mounted in the probe tip,
show an increasing concentration of refrigerant or gas. These indicators are effective in
direct sunlight and also when in the presence of significant background noise. Features
